A Great and Terrible Beauty
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Set in the late 1800s, Gemma Doyle is sent to an English boarding school after the suicide of her mother. She starts having visions and soon discovers her mother's connection to both her school and the supernatural.
There is a lot of hype over this book and I am not sure it is well-deserved. Don't get me wrong, overall this book was entertaining and was a quick, light read. Teenage angst at its best. It will definitely be interesting to see how the movie-version turns out. But this book did not change my life. And I did not find myself thinking about it after I finished the last page.

Have you read Scar Tissue?
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend is reading it now and walks into the room about every 10 minutes to update me on "the coolest thing that i just read" haha.
